A Day in the Life of a Malay Girl

The sun rays through my window, waking me gently at {seven|eight. I stretch and yawn, thankful for another beautiful day in ourvillage. After a quick prayer, I help Mama with breakfast, which usually includes roti canai, my favourite!

{After dinner|, I spend some {time|hours relaxing with my siblings or reading a good book. Finally, as night falls, we all wind down for a peaceful sleep, ready to start another beautiful day in our lives.

The scent of incense/of sandalwood/of spices that wafted/hung heavy/filled the air during religious ceremonies, the melody of traditional tunes echoing through the streets, and the vibrant colours of traditional attire/sarongs and batik patterns/festive decorations all served as constant reminders of her heritage.

She learned to dance/Her dancing skills flourished/She developed a passion for traditional dances to the rhythmic beats/melodic tunes/pulsating rhythms of the drums, and she participated/eagerly joined/became an integral part in all festivals/celebrations/gatherings.
